When we were looking to do our advert for our dvd aspect of the digipak we researched advertisement conventions from sources such as magazines, internet:-

• colour scheme to match the genre of your video
  - images of the band/production
  - eye catching image
  - name of album/band
  - reviews of the album
  - short simple words to describe the album
